Manager, Training and Development

The Manager, Sales and Product Education conceptualizes, develops, and manages all in-person learning to drive talent development for a rapidly expanding network of internal sales consultants. The learning primarily includes leadership training, sales, recruiting and beauty training content for facilitation by subject matter experts or other forward facing representatives. Coursework should employ known adult learning techniques and be both engaging, while demonstrating a depth of knowledge. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, a demonstrated ability to pull material from a wide variety of subject matter experts to write material that makes complex topics more digestible. He/she must possess the ability to conduct train-the-trainers for facilitators of various levels and experience. This role requires working closely with various departments including sales, product development, and marketing to gather information and build original curriculum. The ideal candidate will oversee, author and apply creativity and stay ahead of industry best practices for building live and digital engaging content. Successful candidates are required to be on-site in our Santa Monica office.

In this role you will:

  • Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with curriculum stakeholders and subject matter experts to define the appropriate learning objectives, modalities and expectations.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on in-person and digital learning trends, and tools while continuously exploring new and innovative approaches.
  • Recommend, design, and deploy live and digital courses and modules.
  • Develop professional written, user-friendly training materials for live facilitation including: participant guides, facilitator guides, presentations, job aids, learning activities, learning assessments, etc. using sound instructional design principles.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of Beautycounter course materials, policies and processes.
  • Foster relationships with Field to deliver high quality training solutions that meet their needs.

Knowledge/Skills you will possess:

  • Must have a solid understanding of curriculum development and adult learning theory.
  • Instructional design/curriculum development expertise.
  • Product knowledge design and delivery
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with changing initiatives and revise content at the pace of innovation.
  • Superior organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver multiple projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and potential issues before they occur.
  • Ability to think creatively and seek innovative solutions.
  • Preferred experience:
  • BA/BS degree.
  • 5-7 years of related work experience with at least 3 years of curriculum development with a focus on live and digital learning
  • Strong communication skills – verbal, written and mobile
  • Strong facilitation skills and
  • Graphic Design experience Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Key Note, Power Point, Articulate Storyline or other eLearning authoring tool
  • Experience with direct selling a plus

This role will have 30% travel to regional & national training events
