Graphic Designer

Our ideal graphic designer is a hands-on design pro with a superb sense of typography and photography art direction, strong conceptual skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the digital medium. This role is responsible for the concept + design of all digital content, from landing pages and digital look books, to marketing emails and digital campaigns. The successful candidate will apply creative solutions to a variety of projects in a fast-paced environment and will work on digital propositions that connect our brand and products with our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Create, design, and develop digital assets to support interactive campaigns including email blasts, microsites, landing pages, web pages, animations, and print projects with an eye to keep designs on brand.
  • Help bring new ideas for digital design and content creation to the team using expertise and eye for great design.
  • Support web design projects and work closely with cross-functional teams to create digital solutions that take all aspects of the consumer experience into account including visual design, organization, interface design, etc.
  • Clarify job requests, consolidate materials, and produce creative work within predetermined timeframes.
  • Conduct final proof of digital marketing and print content before creative is released for launch.
  • Work closely with creative, marketing, and ecomm colleagues to ensure that digital and print campaigns run promptly, efficiently and effectively to provide the best value and results.
  • Complete assigned creative requests in workflow and communicate status of projects in queue to appropriate colleagues.
  • Troubleshoot live creative and production issues, escalating concerns to proper developer and vendor contacts and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure on brand continuity in visual messaging across all digital channels.
  • Act as subject matter expert and direct point of contact for creative vendors, attend webinars on new releases and best practices, document processes, and communicate updates to design teammates.
  • Create visual assets for all of Beautycounter's digital channels; web, social media, apps, banners, emails, etc.
  • Initiate collaboration with merchandisers, copywriters, and e-commerce specialists in the production of consistent and captivating brand messages.
  • Identify new opportunities to elevate our brand in the digital space, staying up to date on best practices, and basic UX.
  • Help concept and art direct photoshoots, particularly product-focused concepts.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Web Design or related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience executing digital creative assets from scratch (i.e. websites, banner ads, marketing emails, newsletters, landing pages etc.).
  • Must possess an attention to detail, the ability to think creatively, and have strong conceptual skills.
  • Expert experience with web-centric design and a strong understanding of responsive web design principles.
  • Luxury/Fashion/E-commerce experience.
  • Have an eye for layout, color, typography - flawless design.
  • Advanced experience utilizing graphics programs within the Adobe Creative Suite (CC+ preferred), specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and basic knowledge of web UX production.
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills along with a can-do attitude and the ability juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passionate, collaborative and a relentless approach to help achieve company growth objectives.
  • Outstanding online portfolio demonstrating an understanding of design fundamentals (typography, color, layout) and success in creating engaging marketing collateral.
  • Effective communication skills for both creative ideas/development and presentations
